Why wont my hair dye?

I've been coloring my hair ever since I was 10, since I was 14 ( I am 19) I have been Highlighting it blonde) I recently wanted to go a little darker so a bought a box dye with no gray or ash, and my platnum hair turned gray purple so I got it professionaly colored dark brown. They used fillers and all. Yet it still faded. Now I am left with an ugly faded brown. I want so badly to just go back blonde and when I try it doesn't want to work, my hair color doesn't even change. I really don't want to bleach it and strip the color out and damage my hair even more, but now it seems like hair dye isnt even affecting my hair anymore. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank You!

Why wont my hair dye?

So many people want to be blonde and so few are. If you are a natural. You should NEVER color your hair dark. A little bleach to hilight, but never darken it! It often takes a very long time to be a normal shade of blonde again. We just need to be happy blonde! Our hair is the most fragile to any treatments.

Letting it gorw out is what it will take. Don't damage it anymore.

usually hair cant "hold" unto the pigment of artificial colors if it is not extremley healthy. the hair must not be dried out, a common result of coloring lighter. i agree that stripping the color is very damaging and unfortunatly you may just have to grow this faded color out, get your hair healthy, and start over. try to stay within the "three shade rule".

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

if your hair will not hold color even after filling and tinting back it is highly unlikely that it would survive further color removal

it sounds like your hair no longer has any natural pigment left and it's supply of protein is probably on it's last legs too... there is no way to put natural pigment and sterength back into hair once it is that damaged

sorry

of course I don't know your hair, I think it's best to see your colorist and discuss any options

Ok. You should get the end trimmed. Then you will just have to let it grow out.
