I recently dyed my hair with a store bought hair dye & it turned my hair ORANGE! Help!!!!!?

As I mentioned before, I recently dyed my hair with a store bought dye. On the box it said it was a "cool brown" sort of an ashy brown and it turned orange! I went to a friend who is a "stylist" and he said he had put an ash dark blonde to cool down the orange tones. Yes, it did cool the orangeness a lot but not drastically. He said I turned out sort of a "golden brown" kind of Jennifer Lopez. In my eyes....I don't think so. So, I want to go to the hair salon, because I would really like what's left of the orangeness to go away completely. Secondly, I would really really like to go lighter maybe a golden blonde, is this possible? What can I do? I need some advice. Thank You to all who take the time in answering my question. I'm desperate.

Go to an actual salon and get their opinion. I don't think you should do anything on your own.

you mite just need to dye it again!somtimes if your hair is dark and you lighten it it turns out kinda orange........you should go to thee salon and express your feelings and the stylist wil help you out and answer some questions!

My hair did the exact sam ething. Went orange, than dyed it dark brown and the orange is peeping through! EW!

call the company for whatever hairdye it was this happened to me someone must of switched the colors in the box. they sent me to a salon on them to have it corrected.

Get one of those things that removes the colour of your hair then dye your hair again.

There's several things you can do except to panic. First, get another box of color ( a darker one now ). Or, if you want it to get lighter, get a lighter color. Just no where near orange. Second, if you want it to be lighter, a golden blonde, you can get this type of bleach that's specifically made for black head or whatever so that you hair can get bleached to blonde. Any Cvs, Walmart, Target would carry it. Go to a hair/wig store. They carry everything. You can also ask them about this type of chemical that you buy over counter and what you do is you dye it into your hair, wait 15 minutes and the color will completely go back to your natural color. I've seen it on commerical and I'm afraid I forgot what it's called. But, definitely check the salon store and ask them about it. They should have it. And Third, if everything doesn't sound good.. go to a salon. What else can you do right? Good luck :)

Go to Sally's beauty supply store...and purchase a filler. you can ask the person working there where they are located and they can explain how to use it....its simple i recently had the same problem and i have a wedding to go to and I purchased the filler with the color dye I wanted....what you do is apply the filler to damp hair and let it dry once it is dry do not rinse it off just apply the hair dye to your hair like you would normally and after the complete time just rinse and it should be all good!
