Don't mess with it, let your stylist fix the problem ( you will be much happier). Box color is the devil!!!

if you need a quick fix, go temporary. I like Herbal Essences (for highlights)

Or go w/ Loreal color.

good luck!

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

a week ago i went to the salon and got my hair dyed blonde from brown and i dont like it now its gone ginger and i want to know if its safe to dye it back because some people are saying it is and you only have to wait a week and others are saying because i got it from a dark colour to a light colour i will have to wait upto 5weeks before i can dye it back brown

:(

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

you can dye it back but make sure the brown as some red in it like an auburn colour because if your dyed it straight brown you will get a greenish effect to it....

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

Yes, or you can try to tone it perhaps a hairdressers, but don't use blue as it'll make it green. Try lowering it to perhaps a light brown, so you don't feel so fed-up about it. I've done that sort of thing often, it's part of having an adventurous nature.

dye it green and let the traffic move on!

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

yes they say leave for up to 3 days then it should be ok but how many times have you dyed your hair before now?

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

you can dye it back brown form this, it wont be a problem because your putting colour back into the hair... i wouldnt advise trying to bleach it again to blonde as bleach really dries the hair out and can cause the hair to break, i know its happened to me.... but even when my bleach blonde hair was at its driest, i could always dye it back dark again, as colours dont dry hair out, it can actually nourish the hair.

i cant see there being any problem with it. just make sure if you do it yourself, you buy the right amount of dye that u need. i have medium length hair to just past my shoulders and i needed 2 bottles... so just make sure you buy enough so that you put plenty on and not run out..

hope this helps..

Go back to the salon and tell them that you are not happy with the color. If they are reputable they should be willing to try to fix your hair, maybe for less but probably not for free. Products cost, labor costs. At least you have the security of knowing that a pro is at the reins.

Well first off, did you not like it as a result of the hairdresser's doing? Or you just dont care for the color, even though its a good color job?

Talk to your colorist immediately... and let her/him know how you felt about the color...

If you went really light, it may bein your best interest to wait at least a couple weeks minimum-- unless you want to have your colorist tone the color to tweak it.

Although, if you havent done this bleaching (lightening) to your hair before... and you feel like you are traumatized with this color-- you can have it fixed... but be prepared to spend some extra money on a THICK reconstructive moisturizing leave-in conditioner... Like a Redken product...

You may also want to have your hairdresser clip the ends of your hair too, because the frequent dying is going to make your tips very dry and brittle.. so cut them now before you start seeing breakage.

Good luck

PS- I see others have said that color being put back into the hair (in your case, dying your hair back to dark from light) is not always easy, and the hair can be dry in areas and "soak up" the dye, making it darker in those areas... in which case, on average, you would have to cut about an inch- inch and a half off. So find a color and stick to it. Dying your hair --light or darker-- is still not good.

I would go back to the stylist and complain if it is that severe. Try a purple shampoo - that will take out any yellow tones. If you're still not happy try a better salon (don't try and do it at home as hair dye you buy in the shops is soooooooo bad!)

If you are going back to dark again, you will need to do a colour bath (to put the warmth back in) before you go dark again and you need to get a professional to do this for you.

Good luck :)

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

My friend has wanted to dye her hair for a while and about a week ago she bought some hair dye that was fairly darker than her natural color (she's very blonde). She dyed several large chunks/strands all over her head to test the different shades in her hair and see how it looked. The color didn't take and she's dyed her hair three more times since then for a total of four times and her hair still won't take the dye.

On her latest attempt she tried a color much darker than her natural color and it tinted the hair but not enought to notice unless you knew it was there.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Her hair may not be damaged enough. I know this sounds odd but hair color takes better to porous, damaged hair. If she hasn't already, she may need to get her hair a lighter blonde before any dye will take.

Also if she's dying it herself she may not be putting enough dye in the right spots. From experience you have to REALLY coat it on to get any color in your hair.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

she needs to go way way darker than she wats it then it will turn the color she wants it TRUST ME IT WORKS mine is the same

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

This may seem like a silly question, but did she follow the directions?

I'm a blonde naturally, and I dye my hair reddish-brown, and I've never had something like that happen to me. If she didn't leave the dye in long enough, then it won't work. Too, it could be the type of dye. Make sure it's a permanent dye and not a cheap brand.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Some hair is just very resistant to dyes..they can take up to 50 minutes to activate. This is especially true for gray hair.

Some hair stylists recommend softening your gray hairs to accept color better. Maybe it would work for blonde hair also?

To do this, use a 20% peroxide solution from any beauty supply shop. Apply the peroxide and comb it through the areas where you have gray hair. This may lighten surrounding hair coloring, too.

Wait five or ten minutes--no longer--and rinse it off. Blot your hair dry with a towel; wet hair dilutes hair color and you won't get the best results later.

Finally, apply your regular hair coloring product as usual.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Porous (dry) hair will not absorb colour because the cuticle (outer part of the hair strand) is too damaged therefore not allowing the colour to "stick".

She will need to do a good treatment to get some protein back into the hair and then get a hairdresser to use a "filler" on the hair first which basically just fills up all the holes in the hair with a base colour which then allows the real colour to stay on.

Matching your hair colour up with boxed hair dye?

if i dye my bleach blonde hair extensions a shade of dark blonde, and take them into the hairdresser, will they be able to match my hair with that colour (my hair is dark brown)?

Or is it easier to have them dye my hair, then try and find a boxed dye off the shelf to match?

thanks :)

Matching your hair colour up with boxed hair dye?

A colorist will take into account your natural hair color and tones when developing a color to match your extensions. The colors in the boxes are only available as is... I'd color the extensions and head to the colorist to get a decent match.

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

I just wanna have a different hair color for a week or two, but I have a few concerns. First, I am half black/white and have curly, healthy black hair. I wanna change it to a dark red just for a little while (just for fun). But I wanna know if:

a) My hair will be dry and icky afterwards

b) If the dye will rerally go away when it says it's suppose to

c) If the sun can effect my hair even after the color is gone

d) And which brand is the best kind of temporary dye

Thanks for the help

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

ok there is this ind that lasts 8-12 shampoos. Im not sure what brand it is but the boxes are orange and have, like, cartoon girls drawn on them.

However, the two week dye cannot lighten hair so it miht look kinda wierd. Also, the dye comes out in the pool super fast.

Urban Shock

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

if ur hair is black then you'll have to bleach the hair first or the color wont take. The color will fade, the more you wash it the faster, but then youll have blonde left. If you do red it will fade to pink/orange before its gone.

Fugde and Scream! are good dyes

Hair dye removal?

my natural hair color is a dark strawberry blonde, i dyed it a lighter blonde and my roots are starting to show, i dont want to re-dye it blonde again, is there anyway to remove the color? or do i just have to let it grow out or dye it my "natural" color again?

Hair dye removal?

you can buy a hair stripped but it will damage your hair very badly but i would say just try to color your hair back to you natual color as close as you can get and then just let it grow back out so it wont look unatural

Hair dye removal?

You can use hair stripper but it'll most likely damage your hair, it'll probably be better to just go a head and re dye it closer to your normal color.

Hair dye removal?

SINCE YOU MADE YOUR HAIR LIGHTER YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE COLOR OUT BUT YOU CAN DYE IT YOUR NATURAL COLOR WITH MINIMAL HARM TO YOUR HAIR JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE DEEP CONDITIONER 2 A WEEK FOR 3 WEEKS AND YOUR HAIR WILL BE AS GOOD AS NEW

Hair dye removal?

If your hair was dark blonde and you went light blonde, its not actually dyed...its lightened with some lightener or other and the only thing you can do is get the light part cut as it grows out or get a light rinse to put in your hair to blend the light part with the dark part....nothing to strong so you don't damage your hair on top of it.... Good Luck

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wo

I have dark brown hair. I want to dye my hair black. I'd really rather not go to a professional and have it done b/c I really don't want it to be permanent.

If I buy black dye from the box that's not permanent, will it wash out? I ask b/c I feel like black might stick around longer than just dying it a different shade of brown.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I don't think it will wash out completely. Black dye is so so so dark. If it does fade away, your hair still might be a little or a lot darker than your natural. I would go to a professional. I work in a hair salon and there are semi-permanents in a hair salon. Just tell them you don't want them to use permanent dye. But they will probably tell you that it might not fade completely.

If you use those at home kits, it might be harder to remove if you decide you don't want the black after realizing it didn't fade the way you wanted it to! So many people come into the salon after using box color from a drugstore. Then the salon charges an arm and a leg because it's called a color correction. Plus, if you get it done at a salon and then change your mind later, they'll know exactly what they used and it will be a lot easier to remove the color.

Also, if you use a semi-permanent or a temporary, make sure you're not sleeping on light pillows or using your good towels! It will stain.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

Just try it or you will never know. Youre so pretty and so is your friend. I think you should do it. honestly youre very cute.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I think it will come out.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

It probably will cuase I dyed my hair balck two times but I used permanent hair dye.. and it didnt fade so i think it will then.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I think it would fade out because my brother used black dying stuff and it faded out.
