So I am trying to dye my sister's hair blonde. she originally has dark brown hair. We put a product in it to strip all the color and it turned it sort of a brassy lighter brown. Then we dyed it and it turned out looking sort of strawberry blonde/red. What kind of dye should we use next to get it really blonde?? What brands are good? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! thankyou!!!!

If you do much more to her hair she could end up bald. You should have started with a very light colored shampoo in color like Clairol's Balsam or Ultra, but after stripping it, you should now leave it to a professional.

I went to dye my hair the other day, and was stopped in my tracks by the beauty staff. they told me to go to a salon because the peroxide and bleaches in the dyes are so strong they eat away hair sometimes (especially if you are going blonde from brown) but if you are as stubbourn as I am...and you are going to dye it any way go with l'oreal paris or a popular brand...they are poular for reason.

Just remember that when bleaching or dying hair to a much lighter color such as blonde, when you were originally a dark brunette, it is never going to reach the goal of 'blonde'. It'll come out a bit darker and almost like a lighter blonde/brown.
