Best Box Hair Dye, without turning orange or brassy?

Which box hair dye is the best to make my drk brown hair a lighter brown without making it look brassy %26amp; orange? I dyed it about a month ago %26amp; used Preference "Ultra Light Ash Brown" My hair was dark brown before dying it that color. Now my hair is starting to look orange %26amp; brassy.

I just need a quick fix before this weekend %26amp; don't have the cash to go to a salon till next week. I just want a lighter brown color....any suggestions?

Best Box Hair Dye, without turning orange or brassy?

Garnier 100% works really good

Best Box Hair Dye, without turning orange or brassy?

Don't mess with it, let your stylist fix the problem ( you will be much happier). Box color is the devil!!!

Best Box Hair Dye, without turning orange or brassy?

if you need a quick fix, go temporary. I like Herbal Essences (for highlights)

Or go w/ Loreal color.

good luck!

Best Box Hair Dye, without turning orange or brassy?

don't do anything else keep your hair orange and brassy

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

a week ago i went to the salon and got my hair dyed blonde from brown and i dont like it now its gone ginger and i want to know if its safe to dye it back because some people are saying it is and you only have to wait a week and others are saying because i got it from a dark colour to a light colour i will have to wait upto 5weeks before i can dye it back brown

:(

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

you can dye it back but make sure the brown as some red in it like an auburn colour because if your dyed it straight brown you will get a greenish effect to it....

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

Yes, or you can try to tone it perhaps a hairdressers, but don't use blue as it'll make it green. Try lowering it to perhaps a light brown, so you don't feel so fed-up about it. I've done that sort of thing often, it's part of having an adventurous nature.

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

dye it green and let the traffic move on!

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

yes they say leave for up to 3 days then it should be ok but how many times have you dyed your hair before now?

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

you can dye it back brown form this, it wont be a problem because your putting colour back into the hair... i wouldnt advise trying to bleach it again to blonde as bleach really dries the hair out and can cause the hair to break, i know its happened to me.... but even when my bleach blonde hair was at its driest, i could always dye it back dark again, as colours dont dry hair out, it can actually nourish the hair.

i cant see there being any problem with it. just make sure if you do it yourself, you buy the right amount of dye that u need. i have medium length hair to just past my shoulders and i needed 2 bottles... so just make sure you buy enough so that you put plenty on and not run out..

hope this helps..

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

Go back to the salon and tell them that you are not happy with the color. If they are reputable they should be willing to try to fix your hair, maybe for less but probably not for free. Products cost, labor costs. At least you have the security of knowing that a pro is at the reins.

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

Well first off, did you not like it as a result of the hairdresser's doing? Or you just dont care for the color, even though its a good color job?

Talk to your colorist immediately... and let her/him know how you felt about the color...

If you went really light, it may bein your best interest to wait at least a couple weeks minimum-- unless you want to have your colorist tone the color to tweak it.

Although, if you havent done this bleaching (lightening) to your hair before... and you feel like you are traumatized with this color-- you can have it fixed... but be prepared to spend some extra money on a THICK reconstructive moisturizing leave-in conditioner... Like a Redken product...

You may also want to have your hairdresser clip the ends of your hair too, because the frequent dying is going to make your tips very dry and brittle.. so cut them now before you start seeing breakage.

Good luck

PS- I see others have said that color being put back into the hair (in your case, dying your hair back to dark from light) is not always easy, and the hair can be dry in areas and "soak up" the dye, making it darker in those areas... in which case, on average, you would have to cut about an inch- inch and a half off. So find a color and stick to it. Dying your hair --light or darker-- is still not good.

I dyed my hair blonde a week ago from brown and its gone gnger is it safe to dye it back again??

I would go back to the stylist and complain if it is that severe. Try a purple shampoo - that will take out any yellow tones. If you're still not happy try a better salon (don't try and do it at home as hair dye you buy in the shops is soooooooo bad!)

If you are going back to dark again, you will need to do a colour bath (to put the warmth back in) before you go dark again and you need to get a professional to do this for you.

Good luck :)

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

My friend has wanted to dye her hair for a while and about a week ago she bought some hair dye that was fairly darker than her natural color (she's very blonde). She dyed several large chunks/strands all over her head to test the different shades in her hair and see how it looked. The color didn't take and she's dyed her hair three more times since then for a total of four times and her hair still won't take the dye.

On her latest attempt she tried a color much darker than her natural color and it tinted the hair but not enought to notice unless you knew it was there.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Her hair may not be damaged enough. I know this sounds odd but hair color takes better to porous, damaged hair. If she hasn't already, she may need to get her hair a lighter blonde before any dye will take.

Also if she's dying it herself she may not be putting enough dye in the right spots. From experience you have to REALLY coat it on to get any color in your hair.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

she needs to go way way darker than she wats it then it will turn the color she wants it TRUST ME IT WORKS mine is the same

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

This may seem like a silly question, but did she follow the directions?

I'm a blonde naturally, and I dye my hair reddish-brown, and I've never had something like that happen to me. If she didn't leave the dye in long enough, then it won't work. Too, it could be the type of dye. Make sure it's a permanent dye and not a cheap brand.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Some hair is just very resistant to dyes..they can take up to 50 minutes to activate. This is especially true for gray hair.

Some hair stylists recommend softening your gray hairs to accept color better. Maybe it would work for blonde hair also?

To do this, use a 20% peroxide solution from any beauty supply shop. Apply the peroxide and comb it through the areas where you have gray hair. This may lighten surrounding hair coloring, too.

Wait five or ten minutes--no longer--and rinse it off. Blot your hair dry with a towel; wet hair dilutes hair color and you won't get the best results later.

Finally, apply your regular hair coloring product as usual.

What would cause someone's hair to not take dye?

Porous (dry) hair will not absorb colour because the cuticle (outer part of the hair strand) is too damaged therefore not allowing the colour to "stick".

She will need to do a good treatment to get some protein back into the hair and then get a hairdresser to use a "filler" on the hair first which basically just fills up all the holes in the hair with a base colour which then allows the real colour to stay on.

Matching your hair colour up with boxed hair dye?

if i dye my bleach blonde hair extensions a shade of dark blonde, and take them into the hairdresser, will they be able to match my hair with that colour (my hair is dark brown)?

Or is it easier to have them dye my hair, then try and find a boxed dye off the shelf to match?

thanks :)

Matching your hair colour up with boxed hair dye?

A colorist will take into account your natural hair color and tones when developing a color to match your extensions. The colors in the boxes are only available as is... I'd color the extensions and head to the colorist to get a decent match.

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

I just wanna have a different hair color for a week or two, but I have a few concerns. First, I am half black/white and have curly, healthy black hair. I wanna change it to a dark red just for a little while (just for fun). But I wanna know if:

a) My hair will be dry and icky afterwards

b) If the dye will rerally go away when it says it's suppose to

c) If the sun can effect my hair even after the color is gone

d) And which brand is the best kind of temporary dye

Thanks for the help

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

ok there is this ind that lasts 8-12 shampoos. Im not sure what brand it is but the boxes are orange and have, like, cartoon girls drawn on them.

However, the two week dye cannot lighten hair so it miht look kinda wierd. Also, the dye comes out in the pool super fast.

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

Urban Shock

Good Temporary Hair Dye?

if ur hair is black then you'll have to bleach the hair first or the color wont take. The color will fade, the more you wash it the faster, but then youll have blonde left. If you do red it will fade to pink/orange before its gone.

Fugde and Scream! are good dyes

Hair dye removal?

my natural hair color is a dark strawberry blonde, i dyed it a lighter blonde and my roots are starting to show, i dont want to re-dye it blonde again, is there anyway to remove the color? or do i just have to let it grow out or dye it my "natural" color again?

Hair dye removal?

you can buy a hair stripped but it will damage your hair very badly but i would say just try to color your hair back to you natual color as close as you can get and then just let it grow back out so it wont look unatural

Hair dye removal?

You can use hair stripper but it'll most likely damage your hair, it'll probably be better to just go a head and re dye it closer to your normal color.

Hair dye removal?

SINCE YOU MADE YOUR HAIR LIGHTER YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE COLOR OUT BUT YOU CAN DYE IT YOUR NATURAL COLOR WITH MINIMAL HARM TO YOUR HAIR JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE DEEP CONDITIONER 2 A WEEK FOR 3 WEEKS AND YOUR HAIR WILL BE AS GOOD AS NEW

Hair dye removal?

If your hair was dark blonde and you went light blonde, its not actually dyed...its lightened with some lightener or other and the only thing you can do is get the light part cut as it grows out or get a light rinse to put in your hair to blend the light part with the dark part....nothing to strong so you don't damage your hair on top of it.... Good Luck

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wo

I have dark brown hair. I want to dye my hair black. I'd really rather not go to a professional and have it done b/c I really don't want it to be permanent.

If I buy black dye from the box that's not permanent, will it wash out? I ask b/c I feel like black might stick around longer than just dying it a different shade of brown.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I don't think it will wash out completely. Black dye is so so so dark. If it does fade away, your hair still might be a little or a lot darker than your natural. I would go to a professional. I work in a hair salon and there are semi-permanents in a hair salon. Just tell them you don't want them to use permanent dye. But they will probably tell you that it might not fade completely.

If you use those at home kits, it might be harder to remove if you decide you don't want the black after realizing it didn't fade the way you wanted it to! So many people come into the salon after using box color from a drugstore. Then the salon charges an arm and a leg because it's called a color correction. Plus, if you get it done at a salon and then change your mind later, they'll know exactly what they used and it will be a lot easier to remove the color.

Also, if you use a semi-permanent or a temporary, make sure you're not sleeping on light pillows or using your good towels! It will stain.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

Just try it or you will never know. Youre so pretty and so is your friend. I think you should do it. honestly youre very cute.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I think it will come out.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

It probably will cuase I dyed my hair balck two times but I used permanent hair dye.. and it didnt fade so i think it will then.

If I dyed my hair black with NOT permanent hair dye, would it fade out, or b/c it's black it wouldn't?

I think it would fade out because my brother used black dying stuff and it faded out.

Should I dye my hair blonde?

I have very light brown hair right now and I want to dye it a very light blonde by adding blonde highlights. However, I'm afraid of the damage that chemicals in the hair dye would make my hair bad. Do you think I should dye it or not?

Should I dye my hair blonde?

If you go from brown to blonde you have to get it professionally done for it to look good. Box hair dye will make your hair orange, but I say go for it, its a change, something fun and new, why not? You only live one life...

Should I dye my hair blonde?

once u start dying ur hair

ur prob. gonna continue

and if it turns out bad

its hard to go back to brunetee

so i suggest asking ur friends/ parents

Should I dye my hair blonde?

umm honestly no. dark hair is so exotic and goes great w/ bold colors. blondes look good in greens and blues, but other colors wash them out easily. not so much w/ dark hair. -ME

Should I dye my hair blonde?

go for it!

i have naturally dark brown hair and i got blonde highlights put in cuz i wanted to be blonde.

the way to keep it from getting damaged is to not do it more than every 3 months (if that makes sense sorry i couldnt think of a better way to word it)

Should I dye my hair blonde?

If it is damageing your hair i would not do it and trust me i never did

Should I dye my hair blonde?

Go for it Blonde's rule! LOL just be yourself if that means blonde, blue, purple or brown then go for it.

Should I dye my hair blonde?

chemcals do cause damage to your hair but if you take care of it you will be fine i have been a hair dresser for 15 years and high lights are great they change your look and they are nice as long as you take care of them you will have to keep up with them too they are a lot of work you will need to have them retouched like every 6 weeks and trimmed every 6 weeks and use a good conditioner to prevent further damage . try them you will enjoy them . also if you get a brassy look fromthe high lights use a purple shampoo called shimming lights it helps with blonde hair.

Should I dye my hair blonde?

trie sitting in the sun but htats also dameging your skin lemon juiceis an obvous ooption but i think it might harm your hair but no kemicals thats a plus! i want to dye my hair BUT JUST REMEMBER (ITS NOT ALL BAD THERE CUTE SOMETIMES)

you probably wil get roots

i have roots my sistrs have been dying my hare since i was nine (im 11 now) i have blonde and aubern higlites i bet u would look good with different tones of blonde higlights

i have light brown hair and i love higlites TRY IT!

Should I dye my hair blonde?

From personal experience...ur hair will get damaged especially if u use any type of bleach. highlights i recommend but not your full head.if you bleach all of your hair, be ready to start seeing your hair break off.

Should I dye my hair blonde?

if you really really want it blonde lol but don't DYE it, get a bleach kit-the results will be much better, and and when you try to go light blonde from anything but a darker blonde, it's....just a mess. trust me lol. but as far as damage goes, just trim your ends afterwards, and you should be fine, especially since you're not doing your whole head

good luck!

Should I dye my hair blonde?

it will prob run together cuz thats what my friends did so i wuldnt if i was u

Should I dye my hair blonde?

Umm...I wouldn't do it but if you absolutely want to go for it. Make sure that you use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair to prevent it from looking too damaged and to keep your color from fading. Try Herbal Essences - Color Me Happy. Good luck!

Should I dye my hair blonde?

no. just go in the sun to make it naturally

Should I dye my hair blonde?

u should use temporary dye

Will Head & Shoulders help remove black hair dye?

I've been dying my hair with semi-permanent black dye since last December. Before that it was a permanent dark reddy-purple colour. Last time I got my hair dyed though, the hairdresser used permanent black dye instead of semi-permanent; which is a ***** to get rid of.

I want to fade the black dye out enough so that I can bleach it blonde in about three months.

I've head that Head %26amp; Shoulder's shampoo helps strip colour out of hair- which type is better? I.e. the type for dry hair or the type for greasy hair?

Also, does anyone know if the specially designed products that claim to strip colour from hair actually work? If so, how many treatments will I need to get rid of the black?

Thanks xXx

Will Head %26amp; Shoulders help remove black hair dye?

No, head and sholders will not remove black.....If your hairdresser did make a mistake, then she should correct it for free...... I wouldn't recomend stripping your color because you will make a mess of your hair and will end up paying a better hairdresser hundreds of dollars to correct it.

Will Head %26amp; Shoulders help remove black hair dye?

No head and shoulders will not work. If she made a mistake you should have had her correct it prior to leaving the salon. You can always dye over your current color no harm in that or you can have it professionally stripped

Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

I want to TEMPORARILY dye my hair hot pink (for my halloween costume); however, due to my asian heritage, I have extremely dark brown hair, and I have never chemically treated it before (so basically I have "virgin" hair). I would love to temporarily dye my hair instead of wearing a wig (I find it uncomfortable and itchy), but I do not want to bleach my hair. Is there any way to lighten hair without bleach and still get the hot pink result? Or better yet, is there a temporary hair dye that will show up as hot pink without doing anything else to my hair?

Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

I think you should use that hair color that comes in a spray can. It's totally temporary and washes out with one wash. I'm pretty sure it comes in all types of colors and you could get it at any halloween store.

Look!

http://www.folicapro.com/haircolor/punky...

Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

No. Unfortunately, to get the hot pink to show up at all, you would have to bleach your hair. I've tried different colors in my hair without bleaching first and the color didn't show up at all (I have black hair.)

Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

If you have a sally beauty supply near you - go there. They carry product specifically for dark hair and it is demi permanent (washes out in about 20 shampoos). Good Luck!

Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

if your hair is dark brown there is really not away to Temp dye your hair Hot pink.

My hair is now dyed beige blonde how will it react to Platinum blond hair dye?

It has been six weeks and im bored with beige blonde. But if I dye my hair Platinum blond will the fact that my hair was beige blonde effect it?

My hair is naturally a dirty blonde if that helps

[Much loove]

%26lt;33

My hair is now dyed beige blonde how will it react to Platinum blond hair dye?

If you dye your hair platinum blond it will not take. You can not dye colored hair lighter. The only way to get it platinum now is to bleach it first and then put a platinum toner on it. I would suggest putting in some highlights with bleach and then toning the highlights platinum, this way you are not damaging your whole head of hair.

I tryed to dye my hair blonde it turned orange!!!?

I tryed to dye my hair blonde but the bottom stayed brown and just my roots and the top of my hair are orange i tryed to dye it over with brunnete hair dye but it didn't work. what do i do know?? how do i get my color back. i cant dye it or use anyyy chemicals plzzz helppp!!!! i cant go to school like this tomorow.

I tryed to dye my hair blonde it turned orange!!!?

no offense, but you obviously don't know much about bleaching or dyeing your hair. make an appointment with a hairstylist and have them bleach your hair or fix your hair to however you want it. leave it to the pros.

your hair turned orange at the roots because you didn't get a toner. dark hair doesn't just turn blonde when you bleach it. also, you probably didn't apply much bleach to your ends which is why they didn't turn orange as you said.

if i were you i would be super nervous about going to school with hair like that too. if you can't do anything about your hair until tomorrow, i would suggest wearing a hat if your school allows that or putting your hair up in a ponytail and hope nobody notices. good luck!

I tryed to dye my hair blonde it turned orange!!!?

dye it black...use a semi permanent ...it doesnt damage ur hair..theres no ammonia or peroxide....

I tryed to dye my hair blonde it turned orange!!!?

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

I literally just dyed my hair red from light blonde. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed until I ran out of hot water (for about 35 minutes of pure, non-stop rinsing) and the water was a light pink as if the red dye never rinsed out of the hair! I'm sitting here with wet hair in a clip, not knowing what to do. I applied the conditioner, so that is sitting in my hair too. Any advice on why the water is still pink??? My hair is dripping pink. Is this normal??

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

That is completely normal. red hair alot of direct dyes (a staining agent) which coats the hair, this is what you are seeing.

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

when you mixd the chemicals together, what color was it?

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

it's gonna be pink for a while.. it's just how red dye is.. i have brown hair and streaked mine red two weeks ago and it's still rinsing pink.. careful with the conditioner.. it makes the red fade more so don't leave it on too long.. rinse with cool/cold water.. and try to get a shampoo and conditioner for red hair..

it's normal.. annoying.. but normal..

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

when u put hot water on red it turns pink if u put conditioner i it it will probably turn light pink or maybe even back to blond but not the way you had it before try cold water

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

Try rinsing your hair with cool to cold water. Hot water fades colors.

PLEASE HELP! Red Hair Dye?

Yes, for the first 2-3 times you wash your hair the red comes out a little. Don't be surprise if it fades kind of quickly also.

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

Hi as my hair is very damaged I am trying to grow it out, but the colour that its fading out to is like an auburn colour underneath and just brown on the top, this is because I tried to do the tone on tone thing and ended up it going wrong and I was left with black underneath my hair so I tried to prelighten it out and it went a dark auburn which is now showing through.

Do you think I should put on a chesnut brown, dark red, plum or auburn hair dye on, it will have to be a semi as there is no way I am going to be using a permenant on it or bleach it out, Ive been there and dont that. I just want to try and blend it in in the mean time whilst it is growing out, as ive got all different colours going on lol.

My skin is quite pale, and even though it is I fo suit darker colours, and manage to not look wash out, But I dont know what colour to go, as chesnut is quiet a reddy brown I might go this colour. What do you think ?

Thanks for you answers,

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

hi, the darker the hair color the more healthier your hair will look and feel.

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

i like to die my hair black but if your fair you sould die it a not so dramatic color!

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

I'd try the plum color.

Same thing happened to me, so I decided to dye it a

darker shade.

It covers everything up!

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

dye it dark so the color wont fade and your hair can become healthy

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

get red on the bottom/////so hot!!!!!!!!!!!

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

Chestnut brown sounds like your best bet. It will blend nicely, and it looks natural. Don't go for plum - even if it's just tinted plum, it's not as beautiful. The dark red sounds okay, but I'm still going for chestnut. Since it's a reddy brown, as you say, you can have a pretty mix of both.

XOXO,

Laurie

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

i think coz ur hair has soooo many colours in it u might need to bleach ur hair before anything and then dye it plum or black coz i like plum and plum suites everyone only use black if u wanna look gothic or if u have dark skin

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

I can tell u this without even thinking because it would be blonge ok?

Hair dye, what colour will be best ?

u r so dumb get a wig untill it looks good stupid

Shoul i use a 2nd hair dye.....one didnt do all my hair?

I dyed my hair a few hrs ago..and i like it alot, but it didnt get all of my hair,I guess i have too much hair...should i dye it all over with a 2nd hair dye?will it damage my hair.....

Shoul i use a 2nd hair dye.....one didnt do all my hair?

no it will not damage your hair you could use a second one.

Shoul i use a 2nd hair dye.....one didnt do all my hair?

If you missed some spots, buy more color (same color and brand) and apply to places that you missed. Be careful not to overlap color on hair you just colored.

If you could have someone help you apply it, that would be even better.

Shoul i use a 2nd hair dye.....one didnt do all my hair?

It really depends on the type of hair dye that you are using

If the chemicals are really strong your hair will fall out gradually

Shoul i use a 2nd hair dye.....one didnt do all my hair?

I would contact a hair stylist or somone u know who knows a lot about hair first! :)

Hair dye and cut help!?

that is a really beautiful haircut, one i might have to get too =]

it looks like a simple style, after you take away the curls at the tips %26amp; her gorgeous teases tresses. ask for a layered cut around your shoulders [any length would do, really.]

%26amp; for color, take your natural color %26amp; streak it with the colors that aren't already in your hair. like if your a redhead, streak it with dark brown, auburn, and blonde. [not in the same sitting, however, as this could cause color-bleeding and accidental mixing....not very pretty...]

when you get your cut, take the shortest layers, pull them to the front, [after a shower, when your hair can be blow-dried in any form] and just blow dry them to the side. i use bedhead hairspray but you can use any spray you like, and with a comb, just tease the top layer around your scalp...

%26amp; when all else fails, print %26amp; take that picture to your stylist [or email it to her] %26amp; let her do the rest. %26amp; if she can't or isn't sure about it...it's probably time to find a new stylist.

awesome cut %26amp; colors though, right on. hope it works out =]

That's a really cute style. For dye I'd say either go dark brown, Loreal's Feria Black (if your hair's dark enough, it will give it blue highlights which would be cool with that style), or maybe even a dark brownish/redish...

Hair dye and cut help!?

what i do is i take the picture in and let them look at it while they cut my hair, that way they don't mess up on it :)

Hair dye and cut help!?

*Take this photo with you to a recommended stylist.

*S/he should be able to reccommend hair colors(s) that compliment your skin tone.

*I love the cut and the color in the photo.

*Good luck!

Hair dye and cut help!?

I agree with Morgan, definitely take the picture in when you get it cut. Sometimes describing the haircut to the stylist gives that person a different mental image than what you're actually asking for.

Be sure to tell him/her what it is that you especially like about the cut -- the length, the side-swept bang, etc.

I think I'd ask them while I'm there for suggestions on a new hair color. I like the red in the picture, but maybe you'd look even better with blonde highlights or going a dramatic dark brown.

Hope this helps and that tomorrow is a better day. :)

Hair dye and cut help!?

I like the style. Definitely bring the photo with you so the hairdresser does not mess it up. I don't know what you look like but, it looks like this style would be nice with a medium brown and chuncked in blonde..(very light blonde...) Chuncked...Not streaked...I just had mine streaked and didn't care for it as much...Of course, after it was done I saw some girl with the same coloring and style, but, her's was chuncked.....Loved it!! Good luck and let us know what you decide!!!

Manic Panic hair dye...?

Hi everyone,

I'm incredibly stoked, because...

I get to dye my hair purple for my birthday!

YAY!

I'm going to use Manic Panic hair dye, so which shade of purple should I use? What style of hair would look best with it? Right now, I have short hair with a side bang.

Should I cut it in the back and make it spiky and keep my bangs?

P.S. Don't call me emo. I'm not emo, and I'm sick of being labeled...

Manic Panic hair dye...?

well if its blonde then you dont need to bleach it

i use a lot of semi permanent dyes

it will only last like 2 washes and after that it will turn a crappy purple color

use the purple you like the most i like a darker purple

keep your bangs though

i like the spiky idea

Manic Panic hair dye...?

depends on your face to detirmne the color of purple you should go for. Any hairstyle willlook fine, probably ponytails and pigtails will look best. I say keep your bangs.

Manic Panic hair dye...?

ur crazy why would u be excited to dye ur hair purplr

Manic Panic hair dye...?

You should use Loreal Colour Rays....

They have it in purple and you can get it at walmart....

Its the best that I tried. My hair is dark brown and I used manic panic and it didnt even color it at all...

I used Colour Rays and I didnt even have to bleach it or anything, it turned my dark brown hair bright/dark red. And when I say red I mean redder then a stop sign. Its wonderful.

Manic Panic hair dye...?

WOOHA! stop right there mister! I'm 17, my hair has been every color of the rainbow (except green...but i'm doing that for st patties day! yay!)...please! I'm begging you! don't use Manic Panic! ..or Color Fiend!! they are both the same company and crappy! the color WILL NOT come out as expected...it hardly ever does..its very hit/miss...which is not a fun game to play with your hair...i just dyed my hair violet like a month or two ago, and i used manic-turned hot pink. used color fiend-turned grey/blue/green. RAW COLOR works GREAT!! check hot topic..thats where i got it. I used Deep Purple and its just now needing to be redone. and I only used 1/2 bottle. so theres enough for touch ups...and i'm a girl with long hair...just trust me! dont mess it up if your parents are skeptical!!! i've learned lol

Black natural hair dye?

is there any hair dye out there to turn hair black that is NATURAL

by the way, my hair is already coloured, and i want the dye to work and make my hair JET BLACK.

purchaseable in the uk please?

Black natural hair dye?

Lush do an indigo dye but you have to leave it on for hours. I just use a semi permanent.

Black natural hair dye?

not sure-but do all your hair

Black natural hair dye?

any dark base hair colors will darken your hair.

depends on tones in your hair.

E:G 100% grey =more base / dash"warmth." Examp: Gold / Auburn.

50% Grey = more base /quater"warhth"Gold/Auburn

natural tones equal amounts of base and tone.

if lighter at roots apply to roots first.

if lighter at ends apply first.

Black natural hair dye?

You can most likely get indigo shipped you from a good online company as it is kind of hard to find in local stores at this time. It has been picking up as a good natural alternative to chemicals and it will color your hair permanently to make black tones but you must use henna first to make sure the indigo clings to your hair well. This is the natural way to go :)

How to dye Ginger hair?

I have ginger and have being dying black for a year or so but would like to go a slightly lighter colour like medium brown. I currently apply medium brown hair dye but it still goes black. How can i dye my hair brown at home or do i need to get the ginger bleached out first. And also do the hair sprays work (the garnier ones) or wouldnt they work on my hair?

How to dye Ginger hair?

this could be disasterous - best go to the hairdresser I say!

How to dye Ginger hair?

i wouldnt advise you to bleach it and then dye it brown because it will have a green tint to it u ned to go to the hairdresses and they will strip the hair of all the colour and then do it properly hope it helps

How to dye Ginger hair?

i am ginger to

personally i suggest nt dying your hair at all

you are betraying your ginger streak and there is nothing wrong with it

ginger makes us individual and anyway it gives you a bloody good excuse to be really fiery tempered.

why waste your money on dying your hair when you don't need tyo in the first place. besides dying your hair too much, especially bleaching it makes you go prematurly bald

How to dye Ginger hair?

if you have ginger hair you should be able to just put a brown dye on without stripping the colour out. avoid colours with warm tones in because your hair has natural warmth in already.. but it would be best to see a professional if you are unsure

How to dye Ginger hair?

black wont dye out so you can only change the colour of the regrowth . if your hair is quite fair red then in time you should be able to go a lighter brown . if your hair texture is stronger then it may resist lighter colours altogether or they may wash out . hope this helps.

How to dye Ginger hair?

Have you ever tried using an Ash Brown shade?

I may be wrong, but I was always given to understand that ash toned brown gets rid of red tones. You should phone the consumer advice help line for Clairol or L'oreal and check with them. In the past I've used Nice%26amp;Easy Ash Brown and found it did get rid of the red and brassy tones in my brown hair.

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

lets just say you have natural black hair and its wet and you rub your hair on dry hair dye whether it is crummy dry hair die or a stain will it colour your hair at all?

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

Hair dye absorbs into your hair better if it is dry. It will still color your hair when it is wet but not as well, also it will probably fade quicker. Since your hair is dark you probably have nothing to worry about unless your are using a lighter color other than your natural color.

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

you can always try and find out for next time

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

ewha phlubba scoo! no! Rub all ya want. You must treat your hair like you wish it were never born. Strip it down to nothing and dress it in something cheap. Like..blond with reacurring black roots.

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

yes, there's a possibility that color will stay but it will be dyed unevenly.

Will dry hair dye colour wet hair?

Hair is porous. If your hair is wet, then it has already absorbed water and doesn't have room for much else (that's why it is recommended that you wet your hair first before going swimming in a pool.. your hair won't be as damaged from the chlorine).

Of course it depends on how wet your hair is, but yes - it will most likely color your hair at least a little bit.

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

I stopped dying it with henna about 4-5 months ago and my natural hair color is coming out. I don't want to dye with henna anymore because it made my hair really dry, and it's sort of half red/half light brown now, so I thought about maybe dying it light brown (to match my natural shade) and leaving it like that...

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

Henna is a vegetable dye and very hard to get rid of once you've put it on your hair. The only way to REALLY get back to your original color is to let it grow out. You can, however, get a professional hairdresser to strip the hair, then recolor it with a more natural toner. Stripping will be essential to remove some of the henna, but it is a very tricky process and should be done by a professional. Without the stripping, the hair that has been dyed with henna will not "grab" the new color as well, and you'll still end up with two-toned hair.

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

it's a good idea but you will always see the red undertone till it's all gone...

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

If theres still a lot of red then wait. Because that red will most likely mess up ur new hair color.

Especially if ur going to dye ur hair blonde.Cuz it then will be orange.

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

The natural metallics in Henna can react with other chemicals in regular hair dye. Don't attempt this yourself. See a proffessional, and discuss whether or not and how much hair you need to have cut first or if there is a procedure to remove henna first.

Most likely there may be a way to retouch your roots only with regular color that almost matches your ends that still have henna on them. I am a hairstylist, but I have never worked with Henna myself, so I don't know the specifics, but I do know you should never try and mix the two.

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

My daughter went and died her hair and it came out this greenish coloring, and a pro told her to use a red to counteract the color...it did, and she got the worst red color you've seen...she's in college, and told me about it, and I have been doing my hair since I was 15 and now I'm 43.

I love blonde hair and decided just a few months back, i wanted to go to the new streaked color, and had a little extra money and went to a professonal......well, I went from a light blonde to a horrible red...went back told them this is not what I wanted and they put a toner on it, which made it worse...I asked for my money back, gave my hair a few weeks to adjust, as you don't want to color over color over color, it will break off...so, then I went and got a light blonde haircolor, and put it on, my roots first, then my all over head....it made me a strawberry blonde, which was pretty but still not me, so later put another light blonde on it...and to tell you the truth, you do not have to go get the most expensive hair colors out there, Revlon is inexpensive and the only thing is you have to leave it on longer than the more expensive coloring...I've left this color on for 6 weeks, so my hair wouldn't break, and now, I'm finally ready for my last color to go back to my very light, very sexy blonde....and I will tell you even at 43, blondes do have more fun...but, also, going and coloring your hair with a brown, will still leave reddish tints to it, so, you have to just keep at it till you get the right color or go to a professional...like my daughter finally did, and she's having to wait to go back to the color she wants, because, she kept putting color after color, ( permanent color), try a glaze, or wash-out color, don't keep putting permanent color on your hair...and also, one thing I've found is, color fades as we was it, so the more you wash your hair, and condition it very well, the lighter whatever color you have, the conditioner will fade the color...wish you luck.

If I dyed my hair with henna a few months back, can I now dye it with regular hair dye?

you can get diff. color with diff. combination s of henna. if u feel dry u should have apply oil before heena application. these two steps help you to continue henna. itis natural. think twice before starting a chemical dye. Read all about henna application etc....

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

ok so i wana dye mi hair black and pink lowlights hehe :] where can i find permanent pink hair dye an what brand??

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

manic panic

and some brand at hottopic

jazzi

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

check out hot topic and/ or spencers

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

i would segest to go buy hair extension and color that pink u can always clip in and out other wise you will be stock with it

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

you can go to hot topic and they sell relatively good hair colors that are crazy.... otherwise i would try pravanna or chi, remember to bleach the hair before you apply the color otherwise it's not going to show up that well

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

specail effects and manic panic i have a cotton candy pink

from manic panic i like it alot and im going to order some specail effects soon when i get some more money!

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

The best brand to use for the pink is Manic Panic. You can find it at specialty hair shops or Hottopic carries it. For the best results I highly recommend that you bleach your hair first were your going to dye it pink if you hair is a dark color. It makes it show up better. If you have blonde hair I think you'll be fine but youll have to read up on it. Its pretty pricey for hair dye but its well worth it.

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

bed hed hotttttttttttt

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

As far as I've found there's no such thing as "permanent" pink hair dye - it all eventually fades or washes out.

Manic Panic is especially horrible - it quickly will fade to a strange peachy colour and bleeds on your clothing and pillows.

Raw by Hot Topic works quite a bit better. I've used it and it's lasted several weeks.

I recently tried a product called Splat and so far it seems to be as wimpy as Manic Panic. It's been five days now and I'm still seeing pink in the water when I shampoo.

I've heard Special Effects and Punky Color are the best. I haven't seen them in stores but I did find this website that sells them - http://www.amphigory.com/hair-dye-intro....

What brand hair dye makes pink hair dye ?

Hi, there are no really neon permanent pink dyes - I wish there were as we get asked for them alot. There are several brands that make pink hair dyes (normally vegetable dyes) - we sell five brands but Special Effects Atomic Pink is by far the biggest seller. It normally lasts for ages (sometimes upwards of 3 months/12 weeks) and is a real neon pink (you can also mix it with sfx toner to make a more pastel shade etc if needed). It also glows under uv light if you go clubbing etc. You can see over 100 photos of Manic Panic and Special Effects hair dye photos (pinks) in our gallery with over 1000 photos in total (all colours) - it might help you decide on a shade/brand.

I have brown hair and I want to dye my hair black. I bought black permanent hair dye from hottopic and the brand is called RAW. Will my hair turn out good?

Is RAW hair dye good?

Why did you buy hair dye from Hot topic?

Hair cut %26amp;%26amp; dye?

Hello,

There have been some reports here (Australia) that dyeing your hair can cause some horrific results due to burning and loss of hair by doing this.(Dyeing) Check with a Chemist before you do it again. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Can I dye my hair a year after using henna on it?

I used Lush henna hair dye on my hair about a year ago (last August). I didn't leave it in very long, and although i could notice a slight difference in color for about a month or so, now it all seems to be washed out. I want to color my hair with a chemical Loreal dye. Can I do this without my hair getting ruined? I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks! :) :)

Can I dye my hair a year after using henna on it?

Here's the deal with henna. Henna is a vegtable dye and it coats the hair shaft. Chemicals like perms and color can't penetrate the henna. I don't think it's really an issue of damage as much as an issue of whether the color will work and if it does will it get the color it is suppose to.

If you've kept your hair trimmed up and the same length it was a year ago it's almost a safe bet that the henna has been cut out by now. If not and you grew your hair out or haven't really gotten it cut much then there still may be some henna on it. In this case the best thing to do is remove a small section of your hair from underneath in the back where you won't see it and apply the color to this section and see what happens. If all is ok then put it on your hair.

Can I dye my hair a year after using henna on it?

The general time you have to wait before using anew product on your hair is 3 months. Some sources say you should only touch the new growth, but that generally only applies to relaxers.

Have fun

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

My natural hair color is black. I have managed to make it look a bit lighter by using over the counter hair dye like Clairol, etc... but now my hair is kind of brown, but still looks black. It only looks brown when I'm out in the sun. My black roots are showing now too. I want my hair to be brown, not dark brown, but a lighter brown. I don't want to get it professionally done when I know I just need to figure out what type of hair dye I can buy over the counter. My friend suggested buying a blonde dye, and that will turn my hair light the way I want it. But I want to see if anyone here can help me out who actually really knows or have tried it. The light brown hair dye that you can buy are not recommended for black hair. And I have tried it, and it doesn't really make my hair lighter anyway.

So any suggestions you may have, please let me know. Would getting blonde hair dye really work? And I've heard about bleaching. I just don't know how to do it...

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

You need to get it professionally done, you don't understand that you could end up with orange hair, it is hard to control color deposit and removal in black hair, they will call u cheetoh!!

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Go to a professional the first time you do it, then you can do it at home. Too big a step to try yourself. Check out my website to book travel and earn extra cash http://www.debbiestravelstore.com/

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

ask a professional, just go to a salon they know what to use, if u try it yourself ,then you might not like the outcome

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

i made the same mistake by dying my own hair, even if it's just going a shade lighter. although on the packaging it says permanent it will wash out eventually and you're natural colour will show.get it done by a professional, this way they can mix colours to get the perfect shade you want. and you know for sure it's not gonna wash out

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Dont use a blonde dye. That will turn your hair copper, trust me Ive done it. The best company for me is Loreal. Go to http://www.lorealparisusa.com/ then click the haircolor icon at the bottom of the page. Then on the left it will give you the different names of their colors. Click on diff. ones and play around with it. Every diff. one allows you to find your shade. It will ask for your current color and the result you want. Then give you colors you can use for your color to give you the result you are looking for. Be sure to get some shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair after you've colored it to keep it from fading. Good luck to you!

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

I had the same problem too, go to you local drug store and buy Feria Hi-Lift Browns by L'Oreal, it will lighten your black hair, without making it orange or brassy. Follow all the instruction and your should be fine.

My natural haircolor is black. What over the counter hair dye could I use to make my hair brown?

Black hair looks great on a man!!

black is very hard to dye, you can use Nice 'n Easy ( it is easy , cheap and last longer than the other brands)

Based on your current color, try one of these shades 118A Natural Medium Neutral Brown 0r 116 Natural light neutral brown for the most flattering results, you have to use the neutral color for black hair , otherwise your hair will turn orangy - redish,... Horrible!

every 2 weeks , you need to aply more dye to the roots and let it sit for only 15 - 20 minutes to get a more natural look.

You should dye all your hair every 6 to 8 weeks depending how fast it grows.

If you dye your hair , you must use a deep conditioner often to prevent damage and split ends

good luck

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

Yes yes, I've heard that putting hair dye on eyebrows is unsafe, but I've also noticed many people do it anyway.

Similar to putting Q-Tips in your ear... The Box says no, but 80% of people do it.

Can ANYONE recommend a brand that would be best suited for attempting to Dye your eyebrows????

I've heard to use cream dyes and something low volume... but I have no idea what I am talking about or looking for.

Any Recommendations?

I have VERY light blond/white eyebrows.

I've had them done in the salon (they made them hideously too dark), and I've looked into the tints.

Can anyone recommend a particular type/brand?

And maybe perhaps a specific technique???

Thanks

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

Honestly... its not something I would do myself. I have mine done at a salon when I get my hair dyed. I don't trust myself enough to do it at home.

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

I usually use henna (brown) - if you don't leave it on for too long, you get a lighter shade. But if you have very light eyebrows, perhaps it would be easier and safer for you to use an eyebrow pencil?

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

Plz dont do it by yourself. Its DANGEROUS. Try to get it done at the saloon if its impt for u

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

I don't know of a certain brand, but I would suggest checking out a beauty supply store such as Sally. One of the associates in there should be able to reccomend something for you. If you do decide to do it yourself, I suggest rubbing in some Vaseline in the area around the brow with a Q-Tip so that your skin does not become stained and so that it is less likely to drip in your eye. It would also probably be better to have a friend do it for you so that you can remain laying down while it sets. Another, safer less permanent alternative would be using a brow pencil or one of the brow powders that Benefit sells. That would work really well at darkening such a light eyebrow.

Hair Dye on EyeBrows????

Thats a tricky question. . I am a hair stylist and i wouldn't reccomend coloring your own eyebrows unless you have a color that is specifically for eyebrows. Hair that is very light/ white has little or no pigment, thus making it very difficult to successfully color them in a natural shade.

Im sorry this answer probably wasn't what you were looking for. If you do decide to give it a go at home, have someone help you. cover you eyes with a damp towel and apply the color very carefully! Make sure to test the color on your skin before you do your brows to make sure you wont have a bad reaction. The skin around the eye is very delicate. Try going to a beauty supply store like Sally's to buy a color. DONT use anything from a grocery store!!!!

Good luck

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

i got my hair dyed at fantastic sams. Well long story short, it sucks. The girl who did it got it all over my face!! And I can't get it out. Does anyone know any tricks to get hair dye off your skin?

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

Do you have a Beauty Store around...?

they sell color remover for just a few dollars.

otherwise..

go back to the fantastic sams and tell her to get it off your face!

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

I got hair dye on my eyelid, under my eye, and on my forehead.

I got in the shower and scrubbed it off with soap. It all came off. Report It

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

Umm white spirit? Stain remover? It takes about 2/3 days to fade so you might have to live with it?

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

i have had that problem before and i used baby cream

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

Try lemon juice. Or vinegar

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

use face wipes

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

soak up a piece of bath towel and add some soap on it then scrub it until its gone. Rinse then make sure you use some lotion for your skin to keep it moisturized and not get more irritated.

Ps. If I was you I wouldn't have that girl do your hair next time cause she doens't seem to really know what she was doing. She could've cause you skin irritation from the products. good luck!

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

try your own piss.

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

astringent works, like acne face wipes. if you don't have those, then you can go to sally beauty and buy color remover for the skin, costs about 3 bucks.

edit: for next time, you can but vaseline along your hairline to prevent hair color from staining your skin again.

red_hot_lipps4u, i was talking about color stain remover, not bleaching her hair to get the color out, this is the link to the stuff i use to get color off people's skin, and it doesn't hurt either, i use it myself. http://sallybeauty.com/Hair+Color+Stain+...

...and i'm also have red hair

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

DONT TRY STAIN REMOVER OR WHITE SPIRIT LIKE SOMEONE HAS SAID!! U WILL HURT URSELF!

i would suggest u put soap on it and gently scrub for a while, if u have red skin then maybe put some anticeptic cream or something on to make sure it doesnt get infected.

this happened to me with bright pink hair dye, i had a shower and washed my face rly well with soap and shower gel and it was gone..

hope this helps :D x

good luck

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

1st of all Color removes Color she should have known that as a stylist. 2nd go to sally's n get color remover. Do you like the color she did on your hair? GO BACK if not Tell her U did not get what you asked for!!!! What Color where you goin for? It has a big deal to do with what type of color she used on your hair too. If you are trying to be a redhead be VERY careful red is the hardest color for ANY Hair to HOLD even redheads themselves when dying it different shades of RED.

Hair dye problem, can anyone help?

try baby oil, its what i use to take ink off my kids when they write on themselves

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

I used One 'n Only Colourfix to lighten my dyed black hair, which lightened it considerably, though it's a copper red colour. I really want medium ash brown hair, but I have heard that it could turn it green, is this true? How can I dye my hair ash brown and have it not turn green?

Also, I REALLY don't want black hair again, and I'm afraid that trying to put brown dye in might make it too dark, I have heard lots of stories where people put in medium or dark brown hair dyes, and end up with jet black... Any suggestions?

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

bluesky is pretty much right on. Try natural instincts in Tweed, that should get you about where you want to be.

EDIT: I know natural instincts is a level 2 haircolor but trust me in your situation it's going to last at least as long as a level 3 and it will do less damage also.

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

go to a professional.

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

GO TO A SALON.

Drastic changes should always be put in the safe hands of a professional stylist.

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

any of the ash colors has a green base if you mix red and green you get brown

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

use loreal' lite ash brown, believe me if my hair isnt green than no ones should, cuz im the type to dye it black not like it so the same day i bleach it once if not twice, and my hair aint no funky colors

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

It wont turn green as long as you wait the allowed time before dyeing it again. It will turn if you just dye'd it lets say a week ago and now your dyeing it again because the chemicals of the dye are still fresh and you will be mixing them which can also burn and/or fry your hair. So be cautious and remember to always wait the recommended time before dyeing again!

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

only ash over blonde or gold would turn green, your safe for that, but as for darkness? i would get just a shade lighter as you're perviously colored and your hair is porus, it will suck up the dye an probably take it a bit darker then planned. it will also probably be less ash then expected as its going over red. happy hair coloring!

I want to dye my (not natural) copper red hair an ash brown colour, but will it turn green?

i dyed my hair from blonde to bright copper red and wanted to go back to blonde without it turning orange, so i tried to gradually lighten it by dyeing it dark ash blonde first. But now it's a reddish brown color, which isn't what i wanted. But after you go red, it's hard to get all of the red out. So i don't think your hair will turn green, but it may still have reddish tones in it. The only ways i really know to get rid of the red completely are to either grow the color out or have your hair stripped/bleached and then dye it your desired color. But if you wouldn't mind possibly having reddish-brown hair, it should be safe to try it. But you should probably try going to a salon at least for advice because they could know how to get the color you want from the color you have.

Hair dye research project?

Hair dye research project?

Whats a good hair dye?

i dye my hair every six weeks because my gray hair keeps on showing..cause the dye washes off and no my hair doesnt grow that fast..i bought these relvon hair dye at target and it was two for three$..but it washes off so easliy..it really doesnt matter how much it cost..i heard that sally has some good one but i want to know hat are some good brands??

Whats a good hair dye?

perfect 10 clairol

Whats a good hair dye?

Go to Sally Beauty Supply and ask the women who work there to help you find the stuff you need. My mom has alot of gray and all the stuff that you can buy in supermarkets fades really fast from her hair. The stuff from Sally lasted a real long time. Ofcourse it grew out, but the parts she dyed stayed dark brown instead of fading to look like they were blonde hairs.

Whats a good hair dye?

Look at Henna. You can find it at most Natural stores like Whole Foods. It's better for your hair and better for the environment. It also is more permenant than chemical hair dyes.

Whats a good hair dye?

Colorist is the best! and the glaze that comes with it really helps to keep the color! makes your hair soft too; which is a major change from most hair color.

Whats a good hair dye?

they all suck

Whats a good hair dye?

Sounds as if you have been using a semi-permanent color of some sort or one of those 12 - 24 shampoos and it's gone. The best color that you can get at stores such as Target is L'Oreal brand. Some hair (especially grey hair) is resistant to taking the color and it becomes necessary to use a permanent color. What you buy over the counter is only 20 volume. Permanent hair color lifts and deposits color at the same time and can be very tricky. 20 volume may not be strong enough and you will be left with red/orange (brassy) hair color. When you go to Sally's, you have to choose the color you want and the volume of developer you will need to achieve that color based on your natural color and the percentage of grey in your hair. Hopefully, if you go to Sally's, there will be someone there who can help and if so, I sure hope they know what they're talking about and understand the Theory of Color. Check out the web site below. Maybe you can get a better understanding of the chemical process of hair coloring. Good luck.

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

hi. i just dyed my hair on saturday. i have soft black/brown asian hair and i just dyed it for the first time..so its not brittle or damaged or anything. it is perfectly healthy. the problem is that, it didnt come out as i thought it would. i thought it would be a lighter brown..but it ended up being redish. how long till i can dye it a darker color..close to my natural hair? please help! i want to dye it asap!! thankyouuu! :)

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

Your hair, because you're Asian, is one of the strongest hair types. (thickest strands) There are 3 layers to the hair. Many caucasians only have 2 layers, but you've got all 3! (the more layers, the stronger the hair strand)

Anytime you try to 'lift' dark hair, it will pull some red. If you don't want as much red, use an ash color in the level you want. This will not totally eliminate the red, but it should calm it down.

If you want to go back to your original color then use a soft dark brown color. (there are several levels of dark brown. Just choose the one thats closest to what you had before.)

You can color safely after a week. Because your hair is almost virgin, you can really color again sooner without harming it sooner. (Virgin hair means hair that has never been chemically treated.) Just don't do this often and you'll be fine. Of course, anytime you color your hair, you should use shampoos and conditioners that are especially formulated for color treated hair. I like John Frieda brands cuz they work great and are very inexpensive yet effective. (smell great too!)

Best of luck!

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

u can do it now! ull only do damage if ur lighening! ull get build up when darkening but itll only be minimal so go do it!

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

You cant use anything 2 tones lighter than you natural haircolor on brown/black hair......if you do you will get that reddish color you are talking about.... you dont have to wait a certain time period to dye again unless you burned it or damaged it.. best drug store product " natural match by loreal" that should do the trick to fix it back. and you can get something closer but lighter than your haircolor too.

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

u shud wait atleast a week depending on if the dye u bought has amonia or not.try a dark brown it cums out lyk a lite brown n da sun and it doesnt give ur hair tat brassy tone

Salon proffesionals! hairstylists! hair dye problem!! helppp!?

For a quick fix go to Sally Beauty Supply and ask for Radiance by Clairol maybe a 4n will suit your natural hair color match it up your self....this is not a lightener so you should suffer no damage.....

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

i've just bought a Gatsby Hair dye - Natural Black colour. Will it damage my hair ?

Do i have to bleach my hair first?

And how to dye it ?

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

To be on the safe side, go to a professional

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

yes it will damage

always keep natural

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

defenitely its made og some ingredents and paste and some chemicals..........

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

any dye materials are chemical , will damage your hair

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

Dying your hair darker is usually much safer then going lighter. Although the usual damaging affects exist, its not that extreme. Don't bleach before you dye, your going darker not lighter!

Gatsby Hair dye will damage?

yes it will

What hair dye lightens dark hair with the least damage? Cost not a problem!?

I'm dying my hair for the third time in my life and I've decided to go lighter (I had dyed it blonde in November, now it's back to its natural dark brown). in any regard, what hair dye can lift color (not to blonde, but to a pretty red or light brown) without a ton of damage?

What hair dye lightens dark hair with the least damage? Cost not a problem!?

Use the John Frieda coloring conditioner u can choose red dark brown or blonde use it once everyday them start using the shampoo by him too

Blonde hair dye won't do ANYTHING. You need BLEACH, honey.

Faded hair dye?

Hey guy's, I dyed my hair about a week ago with Loreal Feria's Deep burgundy brown right after i dyed it, It was a beautiful dark red. Well i have washed it 2 times since then and it has faded to a dark brown on the bottom and a light orangey red on top. So what do you guy's suggest should i dye it a brown if so what color? I really didn't want to try red agian cause it just seems to wash out of my hair quickly. Thanks in advance

Faded hair dye?

Red will always fade quickly, it has to do with the size of thee color molecules, they are much larger, therefore they do not stay in your hair as long as any other color. Brown would cover it just fine, just remember you cant go lighter since its permanent color. Box color really isnt that good anyway. It can contain metallic dyes which are very unpredictable and not good for your hair.

Faded hair dye?

I would suggest going to a professional to get your roots touched up again with the correct color to even it out. If you do it yourself it will only get worse.

Faded hair dye?

go to the salon i mean i know the extra $50 would make it look so much better cuz i mean i dyed my hair blonde with that stuff instead it turnd my hair like a white and i had to spend like $ 200 on hair reapir stuff

Faded hair dye?

Hello, I am a cosmetologist. Did you use a permanent or semi permanent hair color? Can you tell me what your natural hair color is and if it has ever been bleached or if any other chemical processing has been done so I can give you a better answer.

Faded hair dye?

hair color washes out...I pay 70 buck.s every 6 weeks to keep a color..red, blond, brown or black...I am 50 with grey hair...******* with your hair before 30 is bad...you will never find your real hair color again!

Faded hair dye?

well I guess you should dye it again. Wash it with a color shampoo. I have blonde hair and I dyed it brown. I used Pantene Color Expressions to keep it shiney and not faded. Plus there are products out there that you can splay or rub through your hair that will help the color stay vibrant. I use the Smammy colorcare protecting Spray and it really works..

My hair doesn't dye easily?

i have natural black hair and i dye it about 2 to 3 times a year. I buy a lighter shade of brown each time because the last one didn't change my color much. I always get a tint of the color i dyed it and only when i'm in the sun i get to see the color i really wanted. -_- I use permanent hair dye. How can i get my hair to get lighter?

My hair doesn't dye easily?

It depends on what you are using, box colors or professional. With the box colors rarely do you get the effect you want. With very dark nat. color it is hard to get it lighter. The box color doesn't have enough peroxide in it to lift enough color off to see the difference. I would suggest you get some hilites very fine all over and that will give it the apperrance of being lighter. If you do get a hold of a color that does lightin it enough you'll see roots in only a couple of weeks so it's not really that great of an option. Go to Coyote's Salon in Pilot Point and Ask for Lora she'll hook you up.

My hair doesn't dye easily?

If you have natural black hair you need to bleach it before it will take and hold a lighter dye.

My hair doesn't dye easily?

You might want to get it done at a salon for better results.

My hair doesn't dye easily?

bleach it maybe blonde.....but dont make it turn blond use the blond colour and keep it for about half the time it asks you to keep it and you'll get a browinsh blondish colour

My hair doesn't dye easily?

try using a lighter shade of brown with a higher volume of developer, like a 20 or 30 volume developer

My hair doesn't dye easily?

i have black hair too, and you have to bleach ur hair before u color it..

My hair doesn't dye easily?

In order to get your hair to "lift" you have to strip it of it's natural color, generally by bleaching. The reason your hair isn't showing these haircolors is because the process of coloring your hair is the hair shaft absorbs the color, if you have dark hair you have to "lift" then "tone" to get lighter hair. You should look for hair colors specifically for dark hair, these will help you get to a lighter color.

My hair doesn't dye easily?

it is hard to get dark hair to go lighter w/ over the counter dye - i know i have dk brown hair. But finally they have come out w/ a hair dye for dark to go light- i tried it a few weeks ago. not sure if they have it for black hair- didnt look- but it's worth checking into- and it doesnt make my hair go red- Loreal preference "les true brunettes"- good luck- it works great

My hair doesn't dye easily?

well maybe you should try a salon

they will do wonders for your hair! =)

My hair doesn't dye easily?

Go to a salon for best results.

If you are set on doing it yourself, look at the sides of the dye boxes. On one side you will see a before and after picture. Find the box that has the color that you are aiming for. You can't go on the hair color on the front/top of the box. The picture on the front only shows what you are adding to your hair. You may end up with the same tone in a lighter shade to get the color you want. If you wanted honey brown, you might need honey blonde to get the brown since your hair is so dark.

Try the toll free number or site of the product you are using for advice on how to get the color you want. Clairol has a great site for this.

Or maybe one of the virtual makeover sites.

My hair doesn't dye easily?

use a hair lightener first ,mind you true black hair is so pretty you will go a long way to beet it.

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

Last night, my mother dyed my hair a blonder color, but accidently left it in too long, so my hair is now unnaturally blonde. Sunday night, she cut it, and it felt a little like a wig - it doesn't even reach my chin now, and I'm not used to it.

Now that it's an ugly color of blonde, it feels more like a wig than ever. Is there ANY way I can get rid of this hair dye QUICKLY? I've uploaded Before/After pictures to help =3

Before (after haircut, though xD): http://img28.picoodle.com/img/img28/9/9/...

After: http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/9/9/...

PS: o_O Please don't insult the way I look. XD

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

Best thing to do is to re-dye your hair a little darker. But sweetie don't feel terrible about it. Try to learn how to style your hair. Anti-frizz serums would definitely help you, and so as mousse.

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

And you look better too catherine! Try to be a little bold as regards to styling your hair. Maybe you could get a trim from a professional hairdresser too. Report It

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

It doesn't look THAT bad really, I think you just need to try straightening it a little and styling it with some mousse or gel.

Anyway, there's no way to 'remove' what bleach does to your hair, unlike when you add a colour, such as black, and it may fade with washes.

Minerals in ordinary water can contribute to a slight goldening/darkening of bleached blonde hair, which is why people who bleach their hair really light need to use special purple pigment shampoos and conditioners.

This probably won't darken your hair much though.

You CAN, however, dye it a little darker with a light brown colour.

Take note that you'll probably have to add a little red also or else it won't work.

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

steps in hair dye removal

Removing a Lighter Hair Dye From Your Hair

Steps

1Step OneIf you had your color applied in a salon and you aren鈥檛 happy with the results, let your hairstylist know as soon as possible. Your stylist should book you another appointment during which she will determine why you are unhappy with your color and perform a color correction. There should be no charge for this procedure.

2Step TwoIf you colored your hair lighter than your natural color, the only solution is to color your hair again. You can only remove hair dye if the color is darker than your natural color. Even then it can be difficult to remove all traces of the dye.

3Step ThreeIf the color ended up too light, you can attempt to fix it by re-coloring your hair a shade or two darker. Choose the dye one shade darker than your natural hair color and apply according to the manufacturer's directions.

4Step FourIf the hair color turned out much lighter than you anticipated or you hate your new light color and want to go back to your darker natural color, there may be an extra step involved. All colors of hair have what is called an 鈥渦nderlying pigment." The underlying pigment for blond hair is yellow. Light browns have an underlying pigment of orange, while medium to dark browns have an underlying pigment of red. Even if you don鈥檛 want red hair you will need to replace that underlying pigment in the hair鈥檚 color before going from blond back to brown. Skipping this step will result in green hair (green is the color opposite of red). In the absence of any red in your hair color, it will look extremely 鈥渁sh鈥?or have a greenish tint to it.

5Step FiveThis is a tricky procedure that is not recommended for the layman hair colorist! It is strongly recommended that you seek a professional stylist when correcting this type of hair color correction. If you choose to do it yourself, call the hair dye manufacturer to speak to their trained advisers. Explain exactly what color you used and what color you want your hair. The customer care representatives should advise you on the correct procedures.

6Step SixIf you had dark brown hair and tried to color your hair a light blond but ended up with an orange-hued mess, you will also need a color corrective procedure. Often, at-home kits don't include a strong enough developer (peroxide) to change your brown hair into beautiful blond. This results in the hair color getting 鈥渟tuck鈥?in the color of its underlying pigment, orange.

7Step SevenIf this is the case, you will need to either color your hair a darker shade or attempt to lighten it again to the proper color level. In either case it is strongly advised to seek either a professional stylist or the advice of the color kit manufacturer's help line.

Tips %26amp; Warnings

Consecutive color applications in a short amount of time can be very drying to the hair. If your hair is even the slightest bit on the dry side, be sure to give your hair a deep conditioning treatment before you attempt to color it again.

How to Remove Hair Dye That Is Too Dark

Steps

1Step OneIf you decided to try on a darker shade of hair color only to have it turn into a nightmare, rest assured that steps can be taken to correct this blunder. The key is to act as quickly as possible for best results. It is much easier to remove dye from your hair if the color is just a few days old.

2Step TwoTry L鈥橭real鈥檚 Color Zap for a quick at-home reversal of your color blunder. This easy-to-use kit works after one application, gently removing dye from your hair while leaving your natural hair color intact and ready to re-color. This product works even on permanent hair dye.

3Step ThreeIf your new hair dye is only marginally darker than desired, you may want to try prematurely fading it. If the color you used was a semi-permanent color, rest assured that these colors fade quickly on their own and the process can be sped up by simply washing your hair more often.

4Step FourIf your too-dark hair dye is permanent, it can sometimes be faded by washing with a clarifying shampoo. Use one that is designed to remove product build-up or chlorine build-up from swimmer鈥檚 hair. These shampoos remove anything coating the hair shaft, including excess pigment.

5Step FiveClarifying shampoos not doing it for you? Try using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo. This shampoo has long been known for its ability to strip color from hair. If you really need to fade your too-dark hair quickly, try shampooing with Head and Shoulders until your hair fades to the desired shade.

Tips %26amp; Warnings

If you are thinking about coloring your hair darker but you aren't sure how thrilled you will be with the results, try using a semi-permanent hair color first. These dyes will give you all the fabulous color you want, but without the commitment. They wash out in 4 to 6 weeks, at which time you can opt for permanent dye.

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

It wouldn't be the best thing to do, but you could dye it again right away...

Also to help the shape of it, you could flat iron it.

I tried to dye my hair dark brown once and ended up with really dark scary-wig black, and after a frantic trip to the drug store and two boxes of blonde hair dye, I got it to pretty much the same color I had before. That being said, my hair isn't as healthy as it was.

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

well u do have a problem on ur hand but it is not as big as u think. Seriously ur new hair colour does not look like a wig, and it will look better if u can get that wavy hair style thing sorted out. and comb ur hair a lot. There is no way u can lose hair colour unless and until it is not a 1 day hair dye(which i know it is not). try redying ur hair. Hair dye stays in the hair for a long time. the only solution i see for u is too redye or too be happy with ur colour( it is not that bad. Believe me i have seen bad and i know when i c 1) and ur is not bad.

Best of Luck

Removing hair dye quickly-- Help!!?

nothing more different friend, just go for regular shampoo wash daily , ur hair at prestent seems to be rough after dye.
