Only answer if you know about temporary hair dye.
Well, during the summer I got highlights in my hair (small ones) and then when I got back here, I died my whole head black, except it's temporary (fades after a month or so) and then some parts of my hair are now green, but not ugly green, but just like teal or something.
Do you know why it did that?
Is that the fading colour or the colour it turns when your hair cannot control the dye?
Also, do you think it would be okay to put temporary brown dye into my hair to go back to my original colour back?

did you use a dye bought from a retail store (not sally's or cosmoprof) like L'Oreal? Because that dye will do weird stuff to your hair seeing it isn't professional grade dye.

professional color or not your hair will fade if the original color is very light or blond. Color has varying levels of tone to it to make the color the right shade. All color fades unfortunately. Try not to play with it your self. If you can, go to a salon and have them correct this. it is very simple, however a professional woll know what tones react together to get the desired result

That happens, it says so on the box... especially for light hair colors. No dye is "temporary" in the sense that it will simply wash out unless you're using a cream, gel, or spray that's only supposed to stay on for a few hours, even then light hair can still hold the color. Think of it like a stain - your "highlights" were probably a yellowish tone, add purple(which is what most black dyes are, just very deep intense purple and/or blue) and you get a green. You'll probably have to wait for the dyed hair to grow out and be cut off unless you want to continue dying your hair. You could get it bleached out again - basically "removing" the colors from your hair but it might not be consistent or come out looking great unless you go to a professional and even then...
If you want it black again go ahead and dye it black, brown won't always cover stuff like this.
